UGA athletics

When you think of UGA, you think of football championships and a white bulldog in a sweater, but we come to play in our athletic programs.

Golf, Softball, basketball, gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, soccer, track and field, equestrian, and more keep our blood pumping throughout the year. There are always exciting opportunities to support our Dawgs as they compete for top ranks.

Sanford Stadium

The tenth-largest collegiate football stadium in the US, Sanford is home to our back-to-back college football champions. On either side of Dooley Field, our famous hedges serve as the perfect frame. With a seating capacity north of 90 thousand, it is an impressive venue. Although access to the playing field is highly restricted, visitors are welcome to access an observation terrace on Sanford Drive where they can capture magnificent photos of the stadium.

Stegeman Coliseum

Home to our basketball teams, Stegeman Coliseum stands across the street from the Georgia Center. The impressive venue houses basketball and gymnastics competitions and can accommodate more than 10 thousand fans. As a point of interest, Stegeman Coliseum was utilized for rhythmic gymnastics and preliminary volleyball competition during the Centennial Olympic Games in 1996.
